Jesus' disciples, and subsequent believers, have been given God's Spirit to do their job of taking the good news to their countrymen and ultimately to the whole world.
The Scriptures have been inspired and protected by God through the centuries so that we have the blessing and benefit of God's instructions for each day, and His eternal perspective of everything.
The older we Christians get, the more we are aware of and appreciate God's presence in our individual lives. The older we get, the more we can anticipate with joy what it will be like to have relationships with everyone in heaven. In the meanwhile, He comforts us as we cope with the trials of this world, including the loss of family and friends who pass on.
